is ready or able to enter a shelter.
Mission Granbury's Non-Residential Victim Services Program
We understand that for some survivors, entering a shelter is not an option.
Some may still be living in unsafe environments. Others may be navigating complex family, financial, employment, or custody situations that make leaving immediately feel impossible. But even when a survivor is not seeking emergency shelter, they still deserve support, safety, advocacy, and hope.
Mission Granbury’s Non-Residential Victim Services Program exists to meet survivors where they are.
Through this rapidly growing program, survivors can receive many of the same life-changing services offered through the Ada Carey Shelter, including safety planning, crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling referrals, case management, court accompaniment, resource referrals, and assistance creating safe exit strategies. Our advocates work closely with each individual to help them move forward at their own pace, with dignity, compassion, and respect.

More conservative crime-reporting studies estimate that roughly 20–25% of identified domestic violence victims are male.
While the Ada Carey Shelter is designed specifically for women and children, Mission Granbury remains committed to helping all survivors of family violence. Through partnerships, referrals, and emergency housing resources, we are able to assist men experiencing domestic violence with safety planning, emergency shelter alternatives, advocacy, and supportive services.
